Peninsula State Park

With 3,775 acres to explore and miles of hiking and biking trails, Peninsula State Park is a Wisconsin gem. There are dozens of gorgeous views — of both land and water — that are beautiful in any season, and there will be many wildlife watching opportunities.

Irvine Park

Irvine Park is a fun destination for families, with its small, free zoo and a nice trail that leads to an overlook of the dam. This area also offers a scenic drive that you can enjoy from the comfort of your vehicle.

Rotary Botanical Gardens

Even in winter, Rotary Botanical Gardens is a beautiful place to visit for families as well as couples. There are 26 different garden styles, and every December the garden puts on a gorgeous Holiday lights show.

Witches Gulch

This marvelous canyon is part of the Wisconsin River State Natural Area and is only accessible by a boat tour. Wisconsin Dells may be known for its waterparks, but this adventurous, outdoor outing is good fun in any season.

Celebrate Fall at Oktoberfest in Crivitz

There’s something about Oktoberfest celebrations that people love. Whether it’s good food, good beer, the traditional German decorations, or just spending some time in the crisp fall air with people you love, Oktoberfest has long been a fun event in many cities across the country. Oktoberfest in Crivitz is no different.

Festival Schedule

In Crivitz, Wisconsin, we celebrate Oktoberfest all day. On September 14, we’ll be tapping the keg at 11 a.m. — then keep up the party all day until 11 p.m. Sponsored by Witt’s Piggly Wiggly and Pelkin’s Smokey Meats, you’re pretty much guaranteed tons of delicious food to go with a day of festivities.

Oktoberfest in Crivitz will be held at Crivitz Community Veterans Park. Admission is free, and all proceeds from the event will go towards funding the local fire department.

Festival Activities

There will be activities and contests for both kids and adults, including things like bouncy houses, pumpkin decorating, face painting, and three live musical acts. Of course, there will always be plenty of beer and wine to go with the food.

New Zoo & Adventure Park

Featuring six habitats from the wilds of Africa to the local species of Wisconsin, the New Zoo offers family fun with up close animal encounters. Fun behind-the-scenes events like feeding the giraffes or penguins are available, or register for one of the Summer Zoo Camps. The connected Adventure Park offers high-flying feats like a ropes course, zip line, and climbing wall.

Lumberjack Steam Train

Over in Laona is a real, working vintage 1916 steam train. Travel back in time in authentic passenger cars or cabooses as the engine pulls you to Camp 5, an 1800s logging site. There you’ll be able to browse the museum, blacksmith shop, petting zoo, and restaurant.

Death’s Door Maritime Museum

Located on the tip of a peninsula, the Gills Rock fishing town houses a fascinating museum of lake history. Death’s Door Museum features Hope, an authentic 45-foot tug boat dating from 1930. Check out the shipwreck exhibit and see artifacts dredged up from Lake Michigan’s dangerous passage, Death’s Door. Bay Beach Amusement Park

For classic amusement park fun, head to Bay Beach. Rides like bumper cars, a Ferris wheel, and the Zippin Pippin roller coaster border the shore of Green Bay.
